A morning in Saint Germain with Le Copain

Sunny morning, Boulevard Saint Germain with Sonia Rykiel’s boyfriend Le Copain. Le Copain is the sweet new addition to Sonia Rykiel’s winter accessories and he’s so sweet, just too sweet! The perfect little coffee companion and my photography assistant for a morning shoot and strolling around the backstreets of my favourite quartier. We start with buttery croissants and sharp black cafés and watch the world go by from the terrace of Café de Flore. All eyes on Le Copain. Fuelled up on caffeine and buttery, flakey deliciousness, we hit the streets to explore Saint Germain…

A quick stop at La Hune on Rue Bonaparte – a great bookshop dedicated to photography books and prints. There’s currently a great exhibit of Elliot Erwitt’s photographs on the top floor with sneaky views out onto Place Saint Germain. We also pop into Assouline next door, another great book store with the best looking reads for the coffee table.

Window gazing and strolling onto Place de Furstenberg. The light is beautiful. I love the timeless elegance of this little square. It’s like a movie set and seriously photogenic. Can’t resist popping into the cute patisserie store Le Chou for a sweet treat.

Strolling on down to Rue Jacob, we stumble upon this great little expo and book signing by journalist Anne-Dauphine Julliand at Le Collège des Bernardins. Love the illustration!

On to Rue de Verneuil to check out some great antique and furniture shops. Stop for a quick selfie outside Serge Gainsbourg’s house before heading back to Brasserie Lipp for lunch on Boulevard Saint Germain….Ahh life is sweet. Just too sweet with Le Copain…
