Parisian Paper Passions…

I have boxes and boxes of postcards from my travels (never sent of course), museum tickets, cards from favourite restaurants, polaroids. All sorts of souvenirs from those great life moments that I just don’t want to throw away (Ladurée boxes are so handy!). I was prop shopping at Merci the other day and I stumbled upon this great journal – the perfect way to collate all those small souvenirs and give new life to all those great big life clichés. (It’s also a great way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon.)

Speaking of journals…I developed a French paper and journal obsession on my first visit to France when I was a school girl on a home stay in Bordeaux, it’s stuck with me ever since. I was fascinated by all things paper offered by the cute little French boutiques. I would stock up on fancy notebooks, try my hand at illustration and arrive home to start my school year with the coolest French agenda.

Fast forward years later, living in Paris and I’m ever inspired by the boutiques dedicated to paper and calligraphy, the illustrators, the print shops. I also find it extraordinary that in the age of digital and paperless post we still love and cherish the art of old fashioned pen and paper! How good is it to receive a beautiful hand written card in the post? My passion for paper is something I hope to introduce more here on TrésorParisien…Until then, I leave you with my new journal and some of my favourite souvenirs from Barcelona this summer…
