Paris. Early morning. Take a stroll down Boulevard Saint Germain, stop for a coffee at one of the historical cafés, read a book, soak up the atmosphere and watch the world go by…

Sonia Rykiel’s Artistic Director Julie de Libran in collaboration with director-publisher Thomas Lenthal and artist André Saraïva have imagined and transformed the historical maison at 175 Blvd Saint Germain into a boutique-bookshop echoing the intimate ambience of the neighbouring literary cafés.

Stepping inside is like walking into an extraordinarily glamorous library. Literature and fashion fit harmoniously together. Floor to ceiling book-lined shelves mirror the Sonia Rykiel signature stripes. Scents of rosewater and jasmine infuse the air, disco-vibes and the coolest soundtrack get you in the mood for dancing, accessories and carefully curated styles just ooze left bank cool.

I was recently invited by Sonia Rykiel to spend a morning at the boutique to experience and capture this extraordinary new space to share with you here on TrésorParisien. I wanted to capture those ‘coup de coeur’ moments – the details and accessories that for me whispered a summer morning sat a Saint Germain Café…The lovely Merrit accompanied me as we chose some of our favourite items and accessories pairing them with elements and details hand-picked from the boutique…

The store is a bursting bouquet of colour. Every last detail thought through, from the evoking books-titles, the details in the changing rooms and notes of Dali in the carpets as you climb the stairs. We love Le Clou, the chic coffee-time companion:  its chic details and colour piled high on hand-picked novels.

The pop-up store perfectly fuses the literary heritage of Saint Germain with the modern day style sensibility of the left bank.

  1. I read your words twice, have gone through the photos over and over again and ended up at a St. Germain café with a book in hand and that burgundy LeClou by my side… You have such a unique way of writing to create a certain atmosphere which I absolutely love!! Merci for taking me with you both on the blog and in real life xx
