Finding the perfect white shirt

I personally love the feel of a brand new crisp white shirt, paired with blue jeans or black trousers, flats or heels – it’s just so easy to wear and it never, ever tires. But finding the perfect one isn’t an easy task. It has to be the right fit, length, fabric, a little oversize, and not too fussy right?

So my search for the perfect white shirt began a couple of weeks ago with a swoop around at Le Bon Marché. From there, crossing the road to Zara, on to SportMax and Cos – you  get the picture. Then onto Céline, where as you would expect, I found a sublime shirt but unfortunately with a Céline price tag attached.

Almost giving up, I had one final look in Anne Fontaine and there it was, my perfect white shirt! Great cut, a forgiving length (covering the hips just so) great fabric and a fair price-point. I particularly love the length of this shirt as I can tie a little black belt around it to clinch in the waist. It goes effortlessly with blue jeans, black trousers and flats. Just dreaming of a great piece of statement jewellery to complete the look! How about you, have you found the one yet?

Style Notes: Oversize white shirt by Anne Fontaine, Belt by Céline, Shoes by Prada
