2 weeks in Provence

Now I’m back in Paris, it all seems like a dream…

Early morning walks through the morning mist and the violet haze from the lavender field to catch the sunrise at Lacoste. Pausing at the little café at the top of the village to watch the sunrise and soak up the views. The soft apricot light falling on this enchanting little village was magical. Stopping by the local boulangerie to pick up warm baguettes and croissants to bring back home for long lazy breakfasts.

Over coffee and croissants we would map out our days, choosing nearby villages and markets to visit. We explored backstreets and hunted down vintage treasures and souvenirs in local brocantes, in Ménerbes and Ile sur la Sorgue.

Afternoons were spent cooling down by the pool and learning local traditions like how to create Fuseaux de Lavande (‘lavender wands’) with the very charming Elsa Lenthal. These were followed by long evenings preparing Provençal inspired dishes and sipping cool glasses of rosé.

We took day trips to Peron in Marseille and Carry le Rouet for a taste of the sea and some beach time that gave a high summer feeling that we didn’t want to end. A sunset picnic in the lavender field was followed by an outdoor cinema screening under the stars inside the ancient town square of Ménerbes…
