‘What’s in a name?’ Shakespeare once asked.’That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet’

Over tea at Rose Bakery, a couple of weeks back my friend Sophie whispered to me about a garden she had just discovered in Levallois filled with beautiful flowers and roses. I couldn’t wait to visit. The idea of escaping the city and spending a morning in the tranquil little garden of La Planchette in Levallois, was the perfect little dose of ‘La vie en Rose’. I took the metro line 3 up to Anatole France and travelled outside of Paris to the town of Levallois. I met Sophie at the gates of Parc de la Planchette. I have always admired Sophie’s classic preppy British style but when she turned up wearing a vintage rose dress that she bought in Paris, I thought this is brilliant. ‘A true English Rose dressed in the  Roses of Paris’…

Summer in Paris, the sun is shining the gardens are blooming and the roses are so sweet.
